First Day Of School 2010
Dear Pre-K Families,
I would like to welcome all of you to the prekindergarten program. On September 1st, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, you and your family are invited to drop by and meet the teachers and view your child’s classroom. Please take ten to fifteen minutes to visit with your child’s teachers and get to know them.
The first day of pre-k is September 2nd.
When school begins, the pre-k classroom opens at 8:30 am and12:00 pm. Please do not enter the room before, as teachers need the time before pre-k starts for preparation.
Please sign your child into his/her classroom. Remember: The half day morning session Pre-k ends at 11:30 and Afternoon and full day pre-k ends 3:00 pm. You may pick up your child at 2:45 if you have other children to pick up at Alameda school. As you arrive at the door one of the teachers will have the sign out sheet ready for you and will call your child to join you. When too many parents come inside the room at the same time it is difficult for us to ensure each child leaves with the right person.
Email is a good way to communicate with the program. If you think it’s important for the teachers to know, for example, your child had a hard morning at drop off, please feel free to inform them, but we appreciate if chat and discussions at drop off and pick up are kept to a minimum. It is important for teachers to be focused on the children during these transition times. If there’s any issue the teachers would like to bring to your attention, they may ask you to wait for a few minutes or to check your email later in the day.
If you have any concerns and you would like to talk to the teachers, please send me an e-mail or a voice mail so that I will arrange a meeting.
You can also check out the Pre-k website at www.iedprogram.org Here you will find the academic calendar, forms, pictures, and much more.
You may contact Ingrid Morral, the Assistant Director, for questions regarding billing. Leave a voice mail at 503-287-9751 or (preferably) e-mail her at iedprogram2@gmail.com. For other questions, contact me at the same phone number or at iedprogram@gmail.com.
Please do not call the Irvington School office.
Sincerly,
Mir Emampoor
